Lavally Iwa Foundation, a non-governmental, non- profit and non-political organization focused on community service initiatives and developmental programs for youths and women especially in Nigeria, has empowered hundreds of students from selected secondary schools in Ondo State with computer-based examination preparation solution as part of the foundation’s programme of youth development. The computer-based examination preparation solution is targeted towards preparing the students for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB UTME) which is a mandatory examination for admission to tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The computer-based examination preparation solution also offers preparation for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) from both the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and the National Examination Council (NECO).

A lot of students, even with good results in their Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations have been victims of failure in the JAMB UTME which has often been a major hurdle. For students in Public or Government Secondary Schools, the hurdle is further complicated by the fact that JAMB UTME is now a computer-based (CBT) while most of the Public or Government Secondary Schools lack functional computer laboratories to familiarize these students with the CBT mode of examination.

The resulting dilemma for these students have been a major source of concern that Lavally Iwa Foundation sought to address because of the Foundation and its Founder’s priority for education as a key factor for youth development in the country.

One of the key features of the Lavally Iwa branded Computer-Based Examination solution from EasiPREP Nigeria Limited is the ability of the CBT product to work on practically all range of personal computers irrespective of the operating system (Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac or Linux) and the standard Home DVD player. Very few Public Schools have equipped computer laboratories and the challenges of electricity in the country further reduces the functionality and usefulness of these computer laboratories to the school students. However, with the CBT solution distributed to the students by Lavally Iwa Foundation, the students can practice with the solution on any computer and even their Home DVD players, thus giving the students maximum practice time in a way not offered by any similar product available in the country.
